Brain Opening in Mexico City
Brain: The World Inside Your Head will take a brief detour from its schedule of U.S. science centers and museums to appear at Museo Tecnologico in Mexico City. The museum will host the exhibit beginning in October 2004, where it will appear for an extended showing through April 2005.
The exhibit has been regionalized both in content and language, and draws in area health associations to provide supplemental information in the exhibit's resource library.
Brain takes visitors through the physiology, mythology and mystery of the brain, demonstrating the process of synapse and how connections are made from firing neurons. Visitors can test the brain and how it operates reflexes, autonomic functions and balance, and learn how sleep "recharges" the human batter from an interactive video game.
The 5,000-square-foot exhibit is made possible by Pfizer Inc and produced by Clear Channel Exhibitions in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health. The exhibit opens in Mexico City on October 2, and runs through May 1, 2005.
